In 1933 more than half a million Jews lived in Germany. However during the first 6 years of Nazi Dictatorship more than a half of them decided to emigrate from the country. Majority of those who stayed were murdered during first years of World War 2. Find out more on our special walking tour dedicated to the history of Berlin Jews and Jewish community that lives in the city today. Although Jewish Ghetto never existed in Berlin, there is a particular quarter of Spandauer Vorstadt where many important Jewish institutions have operated since 17th century. We will focus on this part of the city and show you the New Synagogue, Old Cemetery and the Holocaust Memorial.
