Bavaria is one of the most stunning lands in Germany. It covers approx. 20% German's territory. It is the largest land and thanks to that it presents the most varied landscape as well as rich cultural heritage. This region is ideal for both nature - lovers and people eager for exploration of Bavaria's traditions and history.
Bavaria is dotted with numerous nature wonders such as cristal clear lakes, rivers, mystic forests, sunny vineyards, majestic Alps, nature parks and reserves. This region offers many tourist routes: the Romantic Road, the Castle Road or the German Alpine Road. Besides it, there are numerous picturesque sites, villages, medieval residences and monasteries, Baroque castles and churches.
Munich - the third-largest city of Germany – is a capital of the region of Bavaria and a major centre of culture, business, education and tourism. It is called 'a big village' because of many parks, green areas, as well as special atmosphere. Free time can be spend on the Izara river while walking, picnics, sunbathing, cycling. One of the largest parks in the world is located there. The English Garden offers numerous places ideal for spending time actively. At the foot of the Chinesee tower, there is situated a huge beer garden with 7000 seats.
But, Munich is not only one worth visiting place in Bavaria. Tourists can visit Berchtesgaden National Park with Königssee – a lake offering many attractions. One of the most recognizable castle in the world – the castle of Neuschwanstein – is located in the picturesque region of Allgäu. Tourists can admire a neo-Baroque residence of Ludwik II – Linderhof – picturesquely located among Alps. Mittenwald, as many similar towns in Bavaria, offers unique charming architecture and wonderful location among mountains. Many wonderful places may be found in Alps mountains. In Bavaria, there is towering the highest peak in Germany – Zugspitze (2962).
